Road bike tires come in sizes from 700 x 20 through 700 x 47 and use tubes that have presta valves or Schrader valves.  The higher end tires like veloflex tires or gommitalia tires are hand made and are great for road racing. 

For off road bicycle riding, Mountain bike tires can be use for free style riding and if your crazy downhill tires will get you to the bottom safely.
